A weekend favourite for many, Zanzanit Mutton Masala will tantalise your taste buds with its choicest assortments of spices like pepper, star anise, mace and maypatri and also provide you with filling nutrition.
Masala Ingredients: Chilli, Coriander, Salt, Cumin, Garlic, Black Pepper, Star Anise, Taj, Clove, Caraway, Green Cardamom, Black Cardamom, Bay Leaf, Black Pepper, Fennel, Lichen, kasuri Methi, Maypatri, Dry Ginger, Mace, Turmeric.
Recipe Ingredients: 500 gm mutton, ¼ cup yogurt, 3 sp. Prakash Kolhapuri Mutton Masala, ¼ sp. asafoetida powder, ½ sp. Prakash Turmeric powder, 1 sp. garlic paste, ½ sp. ginger paste, 2 finely chopped onions, 1 tomato’ puree, ½ cup coconut milk, salt to taste, ¼ cup cooking oil, finely chopped coriander leaves.
Method for preparation of Zanzanit Mutton Masala:
1. Marinate the pieces of mutton for 15 minutes, with a mixture of yogurt, Prakash Mutton Masala, Prakash Turmeric Powder, ginger-garlic paste and tomato puree.
2. Heat the cooking oil in a pan and add asafoetida powder to it. Add chopped onions to it and shallow fry till brown. Add marinated mutton to the pan and cook till done.
3. Cook further in a pressure cooker with just enough water to completely sink the mutton pieces. Cook until you can smell the aroma of the preparation.
4. Add coconut milk, salt and coriander leaves to taste and cook on simmer for another 15 minutes. Serve with chopped onions and lemons.
